56% of investors have an ESG policy or intend to have one in place by the end of 2022
Over half of investors surveyed by Preqin have stated that they have or intend to have an ESG policy in place by the end of 2022. And we're seeing this sentiment materialize across asset classes—although the extent of penetration varies.
By value, the bulk of ESG-committed AUM is in private equity and venture capital, totaling $2.26tn—although this is proportionately just over a third of AUM (34%). This is significantly lower than in infrastructure or private debt, where 64% and 59% of AUM, respectively, is in ESG-committed funds.
